Student News - Week 3/10
A rare Chinese bowl bought for about $3 from a yard sale in the U.S. sold for $2.2 million at an auction in New York on Tuesday. The bowl, found in New York state, "was bought for a few dollars from a tag sale near the consignor's home in the summer of 2007," said Cecilia Leung of Sotheby's. It's crazy only a bowl cost.

They say the worlds most dangerous drug, commonly known by it's street name of "Sizzurp" or "Lean", is running through America and doing damage. A lot of rappers and mainstream celebrities have been drinking it. It is a mixture of codeine, promethazine, and sprite or soda. It wasn't much heard of until recently Lil Wayne allegedly had a seizure over overdosing on it.

The pentagon said that, an Iranian fighter jet targeted an unarmed U.S. Predator drone over the Persian Gulf this week.
Both of the aircrafts flew within 16 miles from each other. The US says they were collecting intel on Iranian missile WMDs to put them to a stop.

A separatist group fighting the Pakistani government for years has deployed a new weapon in its arsenal, police said: child bombers. Police in the southwestern Balochistan province say they have arrested a group of children as young as 8 that the United Baloch Army has been using to carry out attacks. This is crazy because they think it's okay to use kids to do dirty work and commit crimes. Such heinous crimes.

This week at the Vatican City, a new pope was elected on Wednesday. Jorge Bergoglio from Argentina was elected and chose the papal name Francis, becoming first pontiff from the America's and the first from outside Europe in more than a millennium. Jorge waved to the crowd of thousands of people who gathered in St. Peters square.

Student News - John Brennan
The U.S. senate recently appointed to John Brennan to lead the C.I.A or Central Intelligence Agency. He won the vote 63 to 34, a vote that crossed party lines. Although he won, he had many critics who opposed him due to his support of drones roaming the sky, American sky's. Senator Rand Paul filibustered the vote with a speech that lasted almost forever. He was satisfied with the response from the president that Americans cannot be killed by drones roaming the skies.

Student News - Hugo Chavez
Venezuela is going through some dark days this week. Earlier this week, Hugo Chavez, president of Venezuela, has passed away. He has died from the worldwide known disease that can be fatal majority of the time, cancer. Being such a powerful figure in the country, the country was in shock. Many people believe he was a great leader who could have been reelected an infinite amount of times. Many critics however, believe that he wasn't such a great president because he restricted the people's freedom in unseen ways. Venezuela is currently doing a 7 day mourning for the president. His body will be buried and funeral will be held at a military base in Venezuela.
